PIX 11 tv news came to Paterson this week for a story about PCCC’s Tuition-Free opportunity. Reporter Andrew Ramos covered the news conference held on the PCCC Main Campus with Mayor Andrew Sayegh who was flanked by PCCC’s president, Dr. Steven Rose, and Erica Plaza, a local mother of three who will attend PCCC tuition free.

“Come back to college,” urged Mayor Sayegh, encouraging Passaic County residents to take advantage of PCCC’s Tuition-Free opportunity.

Funding for the initiative is provided by the NJ Community College Opportunity Grant (CCOG) and is available to Passaic County residents who earn $80,000 or less per year and meet other eligibility requirements. Individuals attending college for the first time or returning to college may also take advantage of the Tuition-Free opportunity.

The news segment aired Monday, August 2 and featured the story of Ms. Plaza and her struggle to raise three sons as a single mother. The Paterson mom said now that her youngest son is on his way to college, she decided to return to school, too. “I have the time to dedicate to me,” she added, and the PCCC’s tuition-free opportunity made it possible for her.
