Advanced educational opportunities

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) is an academic process that offers you the opportunity to earn college credits for prior college-level learning. Eligible students who participate in the CPL program will accelerate their progress toward graduation, saving money and time. We offer advanced educational opportunities for adult learners who often possess skills from previous work experience.

How to Earn Credit

Credit is not awarded for experience alone; you will earn credit for a combination of experience and college-level learning. Degree/certificate-seeking students can pursue credit for prior learning during the semester they are seeking credit.

Credit by Exam

PCCC may award credit to students through:

Transfer Credit

PCCC may award academic credit for successfully passed credits at other institutions of higher education.

Credit for Training, Certification and/or Licensure

  • Military Training
  • Professional Training or Certifications

Credit by Portfolio Assessment
