Office of Student Activities

We work closely with the Student Government Association to be the bridge to student involvement and leadership. We support active student clubs and organizations and offer diverse programming.

The department also coordinates:

  • The New Student Orientation Program
  • Student involvement in community and civic activities
  • Leadership development opportunities for students 

We oversee programs and events at the Paterson Main Campus (PAT), Wanaque Academic Center (WAC), and Passaic Academic Center (PAC).

Mission
Our mission is to provide co-curricular programs and activities that enhance the student experience at Passaic County Community College. We provide students with educational, social, cultural and leadership development opportunities.

Vision
We aspire to promote student success by providing Passaic County Community College’ students with leadership experiences, personal development opportunities, and the attainment of interpersonal/transferable skills.

Leadership Development

The Office of Student Activities offers a variety of leadership development opportunities designed to help students identify and develop their leadership skills. The leadership development program is based on multiple theories, models, and approaches. Taking advantage of these opportunities will provide students with broader educational experiences and will help students gain skills to succeed in college and in future endeavors.

Students participating in leadership development opportunities at the OSA will:

  • Demonstrate awareness that leadership is a process by identifying personal values and leadership goals.
  • Constructively engage and collaborate with others through active group participation.
  • Serve as positive social change agents by examining their own cultural identities and responding with openness to others’ perspectives.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and creative problem solving skills by applying material from co-curricular leadership learning to address personal and community concerns.
  • Communicate the practical leadership skills learned on career planning materials, including resumes, portfolios, and interviews.

Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the official voice of the student body before the college faculty, administration, and staff. The SGA is run by and for the students and provides experience and training in a democratic form of government for students serving as elected representatives.

Student Clubs & Organizations

Enrich your college experience by joining one of our many student clubs and organizations. Meet new friends, learn new skills, and most importantly, HAVE FUN! All clubs/organizations are led by students and have faculty/staff advisor(s). New clubs are regularly added according to student interest and requests.
